Kteiroa

Kteiroa (C-560164-8)

Kteiroa is a cold, low-population, desert world located in the Tlaiowaha Subsector of the Trojan Reach.

Fallout

After conducting a wilderness refuelling operation in Ergo, the players decided to rearrange their crew roster yet again, leaving Longclaw in Kasiyl's capable paws for a solo voyage home (via a second refuelling stop in the outer system of Paal then a J-3 to Drinax) while all the PCs took a J-2 hop in the Who's On Comms? back to Hilfer and from there a further J-2 back to Drinax. This would put them all back at Drinax in time to rendezvous with Semi and Kiishermii's Fancy when they completed their cruise home via Tyokh.

Pourne

Pourne (A-9B2887-A) - Fl

Pourne, like Titan in the Sol system, is a planet-sized moon of a gas giant – in Pourne’s case the gas giant Leodifra.

Paal

Paal (B-564679-6) - Ag, Ni, Ri

Paal is a habitable world thanks to an unusually dense planetary core. This means that the planet has a surprisingly high surface gravity (0.72G) for a world that is only 8000km in diameter and the combination of high surface gravity, an unusually strong magnetic field and orbiting fairly far out means that the planet has retained a standard atmosphere despite the fierce solar wind from its F3 V primary.

First Serious Fight

Having taken a decent prize, the players needed to figure out how best to proceed. In the end they sent Semi with the Kishermii's Fancy and seven of the new volunteers1, plus a couple of the prisoners in cold berths, back to Drinax via a loop through Aslan space (ie Sink-Tyokh-Kteiroa). Taking the opportunity to take a peek at the ihatei encampments on Kteiroa as they passed through.

How Do You Solve A Problem Like Ihatei?

So at the end of last session King Oleb tasked the PCs with dealing with the Ihatei issue on Kteiroa, but my players were somewhat torn on the best way to go about it.

The Ranger Class Subsidised Merchant

Sometimes dubbed a ‘Fast Trader’, the Ranger class is a variant of the 400 dTon Type R that is commonly encountered in the Domain of Debeb, where the relatively sparse Imperial settlement calls for hulls rated for longer jumps and which are capable of conducting wilderness refuelling operations as part of their planned schedule.
